As a doctoral candidate in IGNIDTE, you will become part of a focused research community at MUI and UIBK. The programme provides the structure, guidance and practical environment to grow as an independent researcher while contributing to future medical imaging and image-guided therapy.
Daily Research and Training Environment
- Work as a full-time doctoral candidate on an individual IGNIDTE Project within MUI/ UIBK research environments.
- Build a training path with supervisors through core subjects, elective courses, journal clubs and thematic seminars (courseoverview).
- Train in medical imaging, image-guided diagnostics, AI, MRI, radiotherapy, image reconstruction, radiopharmacy and optical methods.
- Strengthen computational skills through statistics, Python, FAIR data, open science and project-specific research methods.
Transferable Skills and Career Development
- Create a Career Development Plan covering milestones, publications, conferences and future career options.
- Receive interdisciplinary supervision combining clinical, basic-science, engineering and imaging-related expertise.
- Receive onboarding and practical support for healthcare, accommodation, language courses, family needs and working in Innsbruck.
Secondments and Partner Network
- Complete secondments (tba) with academic and non-academic partners in research, clinical, industry or innovation environments.
- Build international networks, expand expertise and understand different research and workplace structures beyond the host institution.
